Sullivan Award
The John J. Sullivan Public Service Award has been established in honor of the extraordinary dedication and service of John Sullivan to the Town of Fairfield throughout his lifetime. This award is given annually to a Democrat who has served our party and community with distinction encompassing community service and sustained political activity and leadership. Nominations for this award come from the membership of the Democratic Town Committee and are voted on by a majority vote of the party leadership comprising the current officers and district leaders of the Democratic Town Committee.
The 2011 event was held on Saturday, September 10, 2011, at the Fairfield Museum and History Center. This year the Fairfield DTC was proud to honor Richard Felner for his dedicated service to our community.
