Chairman’s Corner

Hello, and welcome.  I am Ellery E. Plotkin, Chariman of the Fairfield Democratic Town Committee. Thank you for visiting our new website, and for taking the time to get involved in local politics, where one voice truly can make a difference.

All members of the DTC are looking forward to a vigorous grassroots campaign leading up to the November election, and you can learn more about our candidates by visiting the campaign portion of our site. You’ll also have many opportunities to meet and discuss your concerns with the Democratic candidates, whether at public events or by candidates doing person-to-person outreach in your neighborhood.

Fairfield’s Democratic elected officials represent the majority on most town Boards and Committees, and we take pride in having a civic minded approach that engages with the great variety of ideas represented in our community. Even in stormy economic times, when towns around us are slashing programs or seeing budgets spiral out of control, Fairfield’s town government continues to be responsible to our citizens’ desire for a good quality of life that is affordable.

Despite these harsh economic times where even our State and Federal governments are struggling with budgetary problems, Fairfield continues to maintain its AAA bond rating due in large part to the leadership of your Democratic Elected Officials.  Budgetary requests are scrutinized to meet the needs of our citizenry, and to provide a safe and comfortable place within which to live, raise our families and assist our seniors.  We as Democrats strive for fiscal responsibility in meeting those needs.

All in all, the Fairfield Democrats’ responsible leadership has ensured that our town is well situated to weather the storm, and we look forward to serving alongside our friends of all political persuasions to make Fairfield the best it can be.
